The independent road

So, this is Drake and I thought that I would give a few thoughts on the importance of independence.  Why do we in this generation believe that we are completely and utterly dependent upon the approval and support of those around us?  When did we become so indoctrinated and brainwashed, manipulated into believing that the approval of others is so vitally important?  Today we are plagued with a disgusting epidemic called approval and it is eating away at the very fabric of our authentic selves.  For years of my life I too found myself at the mercy of the masses, literally paralyzed and afraid to travel against the stream, fighting against the current called normalcy.  What would they think?  What would they say?  'They' being the stereotypical majority who based their decisions and labels upon the ignorance which they promoted.  Never settle for normalcy.  Never settle for the status quo.  You are much better than that and much more creative.  There is no mold for your life.  There is no pattern for success.  There are no true institutions of higher learning because the greatest experience is the journey.  If you find yourself alone and without the acclaim of the masses, you are in a very wonderful position.  Are you alone?  So what?  Now you can hear the inner voice more clearly.
